Ceilidh at the Hill - 21 June

This worldwide ceilidh, which starts in New Zealand and concludes in Hawaii 24 hours later, is in celebration of the 20th Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow Scotland in 2014. Lively music and simple instruction will enable participants with no previous dance experience to master and enjoy the dances in no time. No kilts, no swords, no partner, no charge! Come as you are and stay for a good time. A Ceilidh is a party and you are invited!

More details here: http://rscdsottawa.ca/commonwealth%20ceilidh/commonwealth%20ceilidh.html

Come one, come all!
Bring your family and friends.

See you at the ceilidh on the Hill!

The Glengarry Pipe Band

On the last céilí of the 2012-2013 season, this Saturday May 20th, we will be musically entertained at the break by the performance of the Glengarry Pipe Band. Led by Céilí Band member Ross Davison the band is comprised mostly of youth and community members from Eastern Ontario. The Band actively tours Canada and the United States playing it's unique mixture of traditional and progressive Irish and Scottish Music.

The Glengarry Pipe Band regularly competes and takes prizes at the Grade 4 competition level including a 3-game winning streak at the beginning of their 2012 season and a 2nd place at the North American Championships.

The Glengarry Pipe Band is actively fundraising for it's trip to Scotland this August to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships. We would appreciate if céilí attendants could contribute any donations to help to sponsor their efforts to represent Ottawa and Maxville in Scotland.

If you want to provide any sponsorship, check their website: http://glengarrypipeband.ca/

Until next time / Go dtí an chéad uair eile!
